Markus Sommer’s father died from asbestos. It made him acutely aware of the dangers of carcinogenic substances in the workplace.
When he started his job, asbestos had already been banned, but traces of it remained. While dealing with the consequences, he came across chromium VI – a previously overlooked threat, unfortunately caused by asbestos substitutes.
Chromium VI became his personal mission – a fight for awareness and common sense.
Markus has been the CEO of his family business Kavarmat, a manufactory for high-temperature insulation in Poland, since 1991.
